Self care and pampering gets important as we age. I am a personal trainer and am always training for a race or event! It's important that I take time to practice self care so my body is prepared for all that I ask of it. Here are 5 Go-to tools to help bounce back.

Work hard, play hard, recover with ease. Those of us who put in the hard work to make gains, prepare for fitness events, train for vacations, and maintain a good level of health we need to put in the easy work of recovery. Taking time to rest and enjoy our efforts is important. Letting sore muscles recover, preventing over use injuries, and getting relief from DOMs is a vital part of living a healthy lifestyle!

I am approaching the big 5-0 this year and thankfully because I practice self care, I rarely live with sore muscles or aches and pains. Stretching before all activities is vital and is a free way to prevent a myriad of ailments. Staying hydrated and soaks in the tub are also free ways to enjoy some relaxing relief. However, I believe these recommended products and practices are the key to how I stay motivated, energetic, and never dread my workouts or physical aspects of my job.

Self-care is essential for maintaining both physical and mental well-being. By taking time to care for yourself, you can reduce stress, boost your mood, and improve your overall health. Prioritizing self-care helps you recharge, making it easier to handle daily challenges and support others effectively.

In today's fast-paced world, finding time to relax and take a breather can often feel like a luxury. Transforming my body is hard work but transforming my garden tub into a relaxing and enjoyable space is easy! This Portable Jacuzzi is easy to store and use. The jets are movable and the settings create the perfect experience. It's adjustable and works well with any size tub. If you love to maximize the bubbles and enjoy the white noise of gurgling water then this may need to be your next purchase! I am only recommending products that I own and use regularly and this is definitely a favorite!

A jacuzzi offers numerous benefits, including relaxation of muscles, relief from stress, and improved circulation. The warm water and soothing jets can help ease joint pain and promote better sleep. Regular use of a jacuzzi can also enhance your overall sense of well-being and relaxation.

Mineral Salt Soaks

To be transparent I really love Epsom Salts and not partial to a specific brand but this product will be added to my amazon cart ASAP! I add Epsom Salt to my tub every time I take a bath and you already know I love to soak! I also put Mineral Salts in my body scrubs which are so easy to make! Try yourself at home - Use a small glass jar and mix 1 cup epsom salt with a carrier oil (grape-seed oil, olive oil, or your fav) about 3 tablespoons. Stir and then mix in about 10 drops of essential oils. I love peppermint and eucalyptus together but use your favorites. Stir again and store in a dark place.

Epsom salt is known for its ability to soothe sore muscles, reduce inflammation, and promote relaxation when added to a warm bath. It can help relieve stress, ease minor aches, and soften the skin. Regular use of Epsom salt baths may also support better sleep and overall well-being.

Weighted Heating Pad

Gen Xers are growing older (It actually hurt my hands to type that) but we need to take self care seriously. Warm up before activities. Yes, even if it looks uncool, stretch before physical jobs, workouts and even pickleball if you play. It's important to schedule "me time" and get the care and recovery our bodies need to keep going. Maybe purchasing compression boots and bathtub jets aren't in your budget, that is ok. Still take time to warm up before workouts, soak in the tub after the gym, drink plenty of water throughout the day, and utilize rest days with gentle recovery walks.
